Dr. Suzanne Pelletier, Michel Gagné and their fellow partners completed their challenge!

The McCarthy Tétrault team completed 259km around the magnificent Lac St-Jean and thus succeeded their first stage of the 2021 Défi Petits Renards on Saturday, July 31. What a great sporting and human experience to support the financing of the Centre de Pédiatrie Sociale en Communauté de Verdun, les Petits Renards! We leave with a great sense of accomplishment and a head full of beautiful images and precious memories. I am extremely proud of all the members of our team who participated in this epic tour.

Thank you to my wonderful teammates: my wife Dr. Suzanne Pelletier, pediatrician at CPSC les Petits Renards, my associates and colleagues Jean Lortie, Chrystelle Chevalier-Gagnon and Mathieu Bernier-Trudeau, our son Charles Pelletier-Gagné, supported by cyclists Louis Massé and Anne-Elisabeth Simard who joined us in the last segment of the ride. A special thank you to our daughter Juliette Gagné, an indispensable Sports Director, logistical support, supply and security and most of all, a heartfelt thank you to all our generous donors who support the Little Foxes Challenge fundraising campaign. We are about $27,000 short of our campaign goal of $100,000 and I am confident that we will succeed in reaching this goal, for the benefit of vulnerable children in the Greater Montreal South West. Those who have not yet donated can still support our fundraising efforts through one of the links below.

We are looking forward to completing the second stage of our challenge, a 125 km tour of the Eastern Townships with the McCarthy Tétrault team, which will bring together about 20 cyclists on the weekend of August 21. This tour of the Eastern Townships promises to be just as memorable!

2021 Défi Petits Renards

The Défi Petits Renards is back for the summer!

DPR-2021_web-actu

After last year’s success, we have decided to organize the Défi Petits Renards for a second consecutive year!

The goal of this event is to raise awareness about the Community Social Pediatrics Center and to raise funds to help children and teenagers in the Greater South-West area of Montreal.

This summer, Dr. Pelletier and her husband want to take on an even bigger challenge: cycling around Lac-Saint-Jean (256 km) in a single day! Two other sports ambassadors are joining us this year. Philippe Colangelo has set himself the challenge of running his very first marathon, 42 km. And Jean-Simon Bouchard has set himself the goal of completing the most arduous bike ride of his experience: the mythical Vermont Six-Gaps, 210km, 3600m of ascent.

Two other components complete the Défi Petits Renards. The Childhood Memories component, which consists of sharing a sports anecdote on social networks using the #defipetitsrenards. And the Discovery Days component, so that the Centre’s children can also participate in the Challenge! They will have the opportunity to participate in many activities as part of the event.

Follow us on Facebook!

And give for the children of Montreal Greater South-West.

Les Petits Renards started gardening

Les Petits Renards started gardening.

As part of our “healthy lifestyle” program, we are pleased to announce that Les Petits Renards now have a little corner of urban agriculture at the Grand Potager of Verdun.

Our caregivers and volunteers are more than happy to introduce the children to this new creative ecosystem.🌱

Partial resumption of clinical sessions

Partial resumption of clinical sessions.

Telemedicine consultations (video conferencing) allow us to reach children and families more easily and to break the isolation generated by the pandemic period.

However, physical consultations remain essential for some children, especially toddlers.

Our pediatrician, Dr. Suzanne Pelletier is very happy to finally see the families again. 👩‍⚕️

Les Petits Renards would like to thank the Lucie and André Chagnon Foundation and the Foundation of Greater Montréal for their support in setting up resources and activities for Verdun’s children for this summer 2020.

After this period of isolation, it is essential to create opportunities and contexts favourable to social bonding, listening and support.

See you in Verdun’s parks for the whole summer! 🦊🏈🤡

“The Character” Introductory theatre workshop – capsule 2

"The Character" Introductory theatre workshop - capsule 2

In a previous introductory theatre capsule entitled “Emotions”, we introduced you to our favourite actress duo, Mylène Mackay and Daphnée Côté-Hallé. These two friends offer us their time and their teaching by sharing exercises to do at home with the family.

This new video capsule “The Character”, invites us to integrate the emotions of the first workshop by playing one or more characters of our choice. Mylène and Daphnée teach us how to observe and act by addressing physical characteristics, actions and emotions.

List of action games to download.

And don’t hesitate to share in large numbers this video signed “Les Microcosmes” by Daphnée herself.

All our videos are on our Youtube channel “Les Petits Renards CPSC Verdun”.
